Conversations With Scientists

These images are part of a collaboration with scientists through Global Water Futures. I was lucky to be paired with Dr. Jennifer Baltzer, Canadian Research Chair in Forests and Climate Change, and I began what amounted to a three year science boot camp for artists: reading research documents, learning about the fieldwork done by researchers, and attending science and engineering conferences, all the while trying to process the enormous and alarming changes I was seeing in the data about permafrost thaw, wildfire, and weather events.

We have until 2030 to turn things around.
